lost and found ( for me ? )

Number of population in Japan from census in 2010

- Total # of population in 2010 : 125 million

- # of population over 65 years old : 29 million

This is the highest number in the world and make up 23% of total population

- # of population under 15 yeas old : 16 million

This is the lowest number in the wold and makes up 13% of total population.

- # of labor population ( over 15 , under 65 ) : 62 million

This number makes up 50% of total population.

Let’s compare the # of population between 2005 and 2010.

# of labor population is decreasing , on the other hand # of over 65 is increasing.
The amount of support for pension is the same , so our burden is higher..

In the 55s , 11 persons supported 1 elderly person.
In 2010 , 2.8 persons have to support 1 elderly person.

We are facing two huge problems and have to solve these issues ASAP.

- Where to get money for pension ?

increase taxes such as consumption tax , corporate tax , income tax .. ?
change current pension system ?

- How to stop population decline ? ( how to raise birth rate ? )

give money , provide free nursery , reduce working hours , reduce taxes .. ?

Thx for stopping by.
